CROSBY -- William Matthew Miller, 92, of Crosby, died Sept. 12, 2005, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. He was born on Nov. 4, 1912, in Eveleth to Matthew and Mary (Strukel) Miller. He was a WWII Army veteran. He was a member of the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post No. 557, Deerwood. With his wife, Willette, they developed Miller Hardware, Plumbing and Heating, Deerwood. They sold the store in 1970. He is survived by nephews, George Miller, Greeley, Colo., Robert Becaj, Cleveland; nieces, Marilyn Greene, Phoenix, Bobbie Keegan, Edina, Marge Devich, Gilbert, Cindy Ryan, Brainerd, Therese Nemic, Cleveland, Dorothey Bednar, Cleveland; sister-in-law, Martha Miller, Ironton. He is preceded in death by his wife, Willette; and eight brothers, Frank, Charles, Matt, Tom, Arthur, William, Edward and George Miller; and a sister, Mary Doeden.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Thursday. Burial will be at the Deerwood Scandia Cemetery with full military honors given by the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post No. 557, Deerwood.
