Larry Peters, age 70, resident of St. Mathias Township, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at his home surrounded by his wife, daughters and granddaughter.
He was born in Brainerd to Carl and Ruby (Collison) Peters on July 7, 1940. Larry married Eleanor Forcier on Jan. 7, 1961, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. He was employed at Potlatch for 41 years and retired in September of 2000. Larry was a resident of St. Mathias Township for 34 years. He enjoyed the quiet peacefulness of the farm, summer and winter fishing, riding snowmobile and deer hunting. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor; son Todd (Denise) Peters of Brainerd; daughters Paige (Dana) Pikula of Brainerd and Tracy (Brian) Blaisdell of Brooklyn Center; his mother, Ruby Peters of Brainerd; brother Gregory Peters; sister-in-law Marilyn Peters of Brainerd; grandchildren Ryan Gropper, Lindsay Pikula, Kayla Peters, Tyra Hagberg; and great grandchild Kylin Cain. He also is survived by uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Carl Peters and sister Bonnie Devries.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at St. Mathias Catholic Church in St. Mathias Township. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Wednesday.
