LITTLE FALLS - A fire destroyed Jason's Casual Dining Club in Little Falls early Friday morning.

The fire was reported at 3:43 a.m. Firefighters from Little Falls, Flensburg and Royalton battled the blaze for nearly seven hours.

"When we arrived to the dining club it was fully engulfed," Little Falls Fire Chief Mike Nieman said. "Flames and smoke were going through the roof. We alone had 32 firefighters at the scene."

Nieman said Jason Freeman, owner of the dining club, closed the doors at 9 p.m. Thursday. The building was vacant and no one was hurt.

Nieman said that when firefighters arrived at the club, they noticed graffiti on the walls - "I told you" and another message "that isn't fit to be published in your paper," Nieman said.

Nieman said there is no evidence that the graffiti and fire are related. He said the cause of the fire has not been determined. State Fire Marshal Mark Germain is investigating.

"At this time we don't know if this was accidental or was arson," Nieman said.
