Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., last week announced that Tri-County Hospital in Wadena has been awarded a $360,000 guaranteed loan through the USDA Rural Development Program to expand its outpatient treatment space and purchase new equipment.
The loan guarantee is being made through Star Bank in Bertha. Earlier in 2008, Rural Development awarded Tri-County more than $1.3 million in direct loans to help fund the project. Tri-County is contributing more than $231,000, bringing the total project cost to just under $2 million.
The project is financed through USDA Rural Development's guaranteed community facilities loan program.
