The Salvation Army, Westgate Mall, and Cub Foods would like to Thank our community for their generosity and support for our "Back to School Program". This year, with your help, we were able to serve over 200 children with school supplies and clothing. It is wonderful to know that there are people out there who care and want to help "make a difference for life". Thanks to all and may God Bless You.
A huge thanks goes out to Richard Gieke, Fritz's Resort, for coordinating a great day of fishing and fun for Kinship Partners. Fishing guides John Ward, Dave Schultz, Mike Hemmerich, Dan Zimmerman, Ron Waidelich, Ron and Taylor Hill, Gary Stang, Jim Lommel, and Ed and Cody Carlson shared their boats and fishing expertise with the kids.
The following area groups donated money or equipment so that each child received a rod and reel, tackle box, bait for the day, a grab bag of goodies, and lots of picnic food: Pure Fishing, Northland Tackle, In-Fisherman, Woren Lures/Yakima Bag, Oasis Sport Shop, Schaefer's Foods, Schwans Foods, Central Minnesota Gobbler, Edna-Fawn Lakes Association, Safety Caps of Nisswa, Nisswa Jaycees, and Tom Whitehead.
This annual event is anxiously anticipated by the Kinship kids. Thanks so much to everyone who had a part in making this great day possible.
Thank you to Paul and Janet Anderson of Baja Sol Tortilla Grill, Baxter, who are supporting Central Lakes College Spanish students by dedicating a portion of their profits to scholarships and Spanish Club activities at the Brainerd campus. Any CLC student or employee with ID receives 10 percent off their bill every day except Sunday (when a previous promotion takes precedent). Every Wednesday, along with the 10 percent discount for CLC affiliation, 10 percent of the income from CLC diners is earmarked as a donation to the CLC Foundation and dedicated to Spanish Club needs.
