Brainerd School District's Administrative gavel passed into new hands as 17-year Superintendent Elliot Whoolery attended his last Brainerd School Board meeting. And, in a related action, the board set the annual salary for his replacement, former Assistant Superintendent Bob Gross.

What ho! Football season has opened with a bang! Thirty five or forty of the huskiest and most enthusiastic men ever seen on the Brainerd High School Football field turned out Monday night to rough up the old "Rugby."

A man with the name of George Berry Ayers was picked up by the Fargo police. He claimed that he was a brother of John the Baptist and could raise the dead. It was found that he could not even raise the price.
