The Brainerd Family YMCA is accepting registrations for its upcoming adult women's basketball league.
League play begins Sept. 21. Officiated games will be played on Monday nights. Register as an individual or team.

JV tennis wins 7 matches
Brainerd's junior varsity tennis team won two singles and five doubles matches Thursday against Fergus Falls.
Morgan Steffen and Alex Williamson were singles winners.
Doubles teams winning included Krista Bjork-Jackie Thurlow, Alexa Wright-Reah Williams, Lauren Rud-Hayley Sinner, Kylie Halverson-Diana Fellman and Heather Johnson-Kelsey Thompson.
Bemidji beats sophomores
The Brainerd Warriors sophomore football lost a hard-fought battle with Bemidji 14-12 Thursday.
Both teams caused multiple turnovers, which proved costly.
The Warriors had TD runs from Nick Welch of 3 and 8 yards. Brainerd failed to convert its extra points, which was the difference in the game.
Brainerd (1-1) will play Willmar at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Freshmen win
Brainerd defeated Bemidji 14-0 in freshmen football Thursday.
Scoring for Brainerd were Dax Van Steenvyk on a pass from Luke Boran and Tyler Fitch on a run. Boran also threw a 2-point conversion pass to Chris Bowman.
The defensive effort was led by Ian Haug, Dan Babineau, Jed Rusk, Reno Fussy and Zach Shepersky. Warrior player of the game was Dan Babineau.
Brainerd (2-0) plays at 5 p.m. Thursday at Willmar.
