The Great River Arts Association presents an exhibit titled "Paint, Pattern & Cloth" by Hackensack artist Judith Visker on display through October at the Family Medical Center Gallery in Little Falls.
"Many people believe a preliminary plan should be established before starting a painting. Though that may work for others, the paintings I do start with a brief idea," Visker said. "I think of this idea as a germ of an idea, which expands and develops spontaneously as I interact with the materials. Using color is intuitive for me and as I move forward I develop patterns on and around the shapes juxtaposing the images. These often combine in ways suggesting relationships to one another and sometimes suggest objects, which have developed unconsciously in the patterns."
This show is free and open to the public during regular clinic hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
