LONG PRAIRIE -- The Brainerd girls' cross country team ran to a third place finish in the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Invitational Cross Country race held Monday in Long Prairie. The Warriors finished with a score of 66 points.
"We felt really good that we had three runners in the top 15" said Craig Rezac, head coach of the Warriors. "We also felt good about our JV team. They finished with a score of 15, which is a perfect score, led by Mandy Hanson, who was the overall winner."
The Sauk Centre team won the event with 37 points. Jenny Heff of Paynesville turned in the event's fastest time, 15:37. Abbie Tuomi led the Warriors with a time of 17:32, good enough for a sixth place finish.
