BROOTEN -- Daniel Kenneth Steffensen, 33, Brooten, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, as the result of a traffic accident.
He was born July 2, 1967, in Willmar to Gary and Carol (Lowder) Steffensen. At age 5 he moved with his family to Washington, returning to Belgrade when he was 14. He attended grade school in Washington and high school in Belgrade, graduating in 1986. He lived in Belgrade, Castle Rock, Wash., St. Cloud, Brainerd and Brooten after graduation. He worked in construction. He married Cathy Marie Lane on April 23, 1993, in Sioux Falls, S.D. They lived in Brooten. He attended Evangelical Church in New London. He was a member of the Jaguar Youth Wrestling Club.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Brandon Steffensen, Zachary Steffensen and Gary Steffensen; two daughters, Trista Monson and Shyra Steffensen; his parents; three brothers, Michael Steffensen, Belgrade, Joseph Steffensen, Brooten, and William Steffensen, Belgrade; and a grandmother, Hedvig Steffensen, New London.
A brother, Christopher, and his grandparents, died earlier.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in New London with the Rev. Michael DeKraai officiating. Burial will be in the Crow River Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
