PIERZ -- Myron "Jack" Elton Gannon, 84, Pierz, died Sunday Sept. 10, 2000, at the St. Mary's Villa in Pierz.
He was born Dec. 16, 1915, in Giltner, Neb., to Myron and Pearl (Fairy) Gannon. He attended Giltner High School. During World War II he served as a master sergeant in the Army Air Corps in England. He married Thelma Harthan in 1947 in Grand Island, Neb. They moved to Grand Rapids in 1953 where he farmed and worked at Tioga Mine until he moved to Long Beach, Calif. In 1993, he moved to St. Mary's Villa in Pierz.
Survivors include his former wife, Thelma Gannon, Grand Rapids; two daughters, Sandra Dickmann, Champlin, and Rhonda Gannon, Kidron, Israel; three sons, Gary Gannon, Randall, Duane Gannon, Grand Rapids, and Myron G. Gannon, Andover; and 12 grandchildren.
Three sisters, Lois Gannon, Thelda Gatch and Cleone Doud; and one grandson died earlier.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Itasca-Cavary Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
