Ninety-four 4-H members from 10 counties have entered beef, sheep, swine, poultry and rabbit exhibits for the 66th annual Northeast 4-H Junior Livestock Show Saturday and Sunday at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds in Brainerd.
Chris Polzin, Cokato, will judge and help the 4-Hers with general livestock showmanship. Larry Hoff, Akeley, will present a mini-session on poultry and judge live poultry and showmanship. Following showmanship, Dan Brown and Cliff Lamb from the University of Minnesota Research and Outreach Center at Grand Rapids will demonstrate beef pregnancy checking using ultrasound equipment.
David Resch, Glencoe, will judge the general livestock on Sunday morning, Sept. 17 beginning at 8:30 a.m. The show order will be swine barrows, sheep ewe lambs, market lambs, beef cow/calves, feeder calves, heifers, steers and dairy steers. Sue Origer, Pillager will present a market rabbit mini-session and judge the market rabbit fryers and rabbit showmanship.
A lunch and awards ceremony will wrap up the show on Sunday afternoon.
