Brainerd hangs with Alex before losing 3-0

Allison Mueller knocked down 10 kills and added five digs, two blocks and one ace serve in the Brainerd Warriors 3-0 Central Lakes Conference loss to the Alexandria Cardinals.

"Against Alexandria in the last eight years we haven't even come close to winning a set," Brainerd coach Jared Diem said. "The first set was ours for the taking and we were also right there in the third. These girls from Alex are playing Junior Olympic volleyball from the time they can walk. We played them tough the whole game. We played their starters hard and the girls can really hold their heads high and take this as a positive."

After dropping the first set 25-23, the Warriors lost the second set 25-17 before coming back to play the Cardinals tough in a 25-20 third set.

Alanna Hansen tallied 19 set assists for Warriors and Hallsey Olson picked up 16 digs.
