Pequot Lakes cruises past Crosby-Ironton

CROSBY - All four singles players for the Pequot Lakes tennis team secured victories as the Patriots cruised past Crosby-Ironton 5-2 in Mid-State Conference play Monday.

Led by straight-set victories from Angela Villella, Sarah Thomas and Jasmine Nordby, the Patriots improved to 6-3 overall, 3-0 in Mid-State play. Megan Lenz won 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 at No. 1.

The Rangers' victories were by the doubles teams of Liz Johnson-Kaitlyn Risnes at No. 1 and Heather Robinson-Kayla Sorben at No. 3 doubles.

AITKIN - Kelsey Klucas, Alice Browning and Nicole Beneke each had straight-set singles victories to lead Aitkin past Pine City 4-3 on Monday.

In the No. 3 doubles match, the Gobblers' Ellen Raushel-Elizibeth Mattson also were victorious for the 6-1 Gobblers.
