Gophers to induct Baker, Lohmiller

Dr. Bill Baker of Brainerd and Chip Lohmiller of Crosslake will be inducted into the University of Minnesota "M" Club Hall of Fame this weekend.

Baker was an All-American defensemen for the men's hockey team and Lohmiller was a standout kicker for the football team.

Induction ceremonies will be Friday at the Radisson Metrodome on the University of Minnesota campus. The reception will begin at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m. Cost of the banquet is $75 per person.

Inductees will be recognized at halftime of the Gophers/Toledo football game Saturday. For more information, call the M Club at (952) 929-0444.

Being inducted along with Baker and Lohmiller are: current Gophers baseball coach John Anderson, Evan Johnson (wrestling), Tom Lehman (golf), Bill Davis (baseball), Pinky McNamara (football), Paul Mitchell (football) and Erling Platou (basketball).
