Myrtle O. Thoreson
Myrtle O. Thoreson, 92, Brainerd, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village of Brainerd.
She was born Aug. 21, 1908, in Rosewood to Peter and Caroline (Lappegaard) Mellem. She married Lincoln Thoreson on July 2, 1927, in Minneapolis. He died July 31, 1993. She was a longtime member of Bethesda Lutheran Church of Malmo before moving to Brainerd. She was currently a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Baxter and VFW Post No. 1647 Auxiliary of Brainerd.
Survivors include a daughter, Marvella Larson, Baxter; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alvin Mellem, California, and Clarence Mellem, Libby, Mont.; and three sisters, Joyce Nielson, Libby, Mont., Florence Moore, Missoula, Mont., and Pearl Thoreson, Kalispell, Mont.
Her husband, and two brothers, Roy and Vernon Mellem, died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Baxter with Pastor Darrell Pedersen and Pastor Jennifer Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery of Kimberly Township. Memorials are preferred to Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Baxter and Bethany Good Samaritan Village of Brainerd.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home of Brainerd and an hour before services at the church.
