IRONTON -- Olavi "Ole" Pakarinen, 85, Ironton, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at Cuyuna Regional Care Center of Crosby.
He was born Jan. 14, 1915, in Biwabik to Henry and Hanah (Paalanen) Pakarinen. He married Loretta "Lori" Lural on Dec. 29, 1967, in Crosby. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving as military policeman. He was a member of the Assemblies of God Tabernacle in Crosby. He was a lifetime honorary member of the Myrin James American Legion Post No. 443 of Ironton.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jon "David," Kenosha, Wis., Rodney Pakarinen, Aitkin, and Scott Pakarinen, Brainerd; a daughter, Amanda Pakarinen, England; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
His first wife, Charlene, and a sister, died earlier.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Koop Funeral Home of Croby with the Rev. Daniel Rothwell officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery of Crosby with full military rites by Myrin James American Legion Post of Ironton.
Friends may call an hour before services Wednesday at Koop Funeral Home of Crosby.
