HIBBING - Central Lakes College limped into Hibbing without its regular setter. It came away with a North Division victory.
After Rachel Pfeffer sprained her ankle Tuesday, CLC turned to Krystle Hamilton, who hadn't set since the eighth grade. It took a while for the Raiders to warm up to the new lineup - they lost the first two games. But they rallied by winning the final three en route to victory Wednesday night.
"It was a super good effort for us," CLC coach Jane Peterson said. "It's the first time we've gotten better in a match. It was a different lineup and it just worked. We gutted it out."
Hamilton had 21 digs to go with her 37 set assists. Erica Feldewerd and Christine Malm led CLC with 25 digs apiece. Kirstie Gill led the Raiders with 17 kills and four blocks.
CLC improved to 2-1 in the division and 5-2 overall. The loss was Hibbing's first in the division as it dropped to 2-1 and 7-2 overall.
