NISSWA -- The team of Stephen Benson, Bruce Lund, Joe Hasselberg and Mark Forsberg from the Vintage at Staples finished sixth in the Minnesota Golf Association Net Team Championship Wednesday at the Pines at Grand View Lodge.
The Vintage team shot 128-129--257 to finish six shots off the pace set by Harley and Harvey Exsted and Jon Searles of Fiddlestix Golf Club and with Jim Olson of Izaty's Resort.
At the Pines, the Fiddlestix and Izaty's team shot a 21-under-par net 123 to add to its first-round total of 17-under-par 127 at the Preserve for a 36-hole total of 38-under-par 250.
The team of Fred Boos, Mike Bohnenstingl and Mark Ronnei of the Pines and Dean Belbas of Interlachen shot 130-135--265.
JV girls' soccer team blanks Little Falls
The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity girls' soccer team continue to dominate Central Lakes Conference opponents as it beat Little Falls 11-0 Thursday.
Scoring for Brainerd were Aimee Tagtmeier (3 goals, 2 assists), Lucy Sweeny (3-2), Nicole Millette (3 goals), Sam Smith (1-1), Megan Zillmer (goal). Kelli Rosenthal and Ali Jones each had assists. Britta Nelson stopped the only Flyer shot on goal.
The Warriors (4-0-0) have outscored opponents 47-1.
Pierz loses to Rockford
ROCKFORD -- The Pierz Pioneers seized a 25-15, 15-25, 25-14 lead before dropping the last two games 25-21, 15-13 to Rockford in Central Minnesota Conference volleyball Thursday.
Lisa Pohlkamp had 14 kills, Jenae Swanson 23 set assists and Amber Kummet 17 digs for the Pioneers.
