Fred M. Knutson

DEERWOOD - Fred Morseth Knutson, age 76, of Deerwood, died Sept. 6, 2009, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. He was born on Dec. 11, 1932, in Hendricks, Minn., to Oliver and Clara (Morseth) Knutson. He was a Korean Army veteran. Fred was a longtime building contractor in the Minneapolis area.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; loving, patient father to three sons, Michael (Carolyn) Knutson, Minneapolis, Jack (Mary) Knutson, Champlin, Daniel "Pete" (Deb Engleman) Knutson, St. Michael; nine grandchildren, Scott, Ryan, Maya, Evan, Wyley, Hayley, Jacob, Taylor, Joey; one great-granddaughter, Ashley; sister, Corrin "Kay" Johnson, Hendricks; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Friday at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4343 Nicollet Ave. S., Minneapolis. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis 12:15 p.m. Friday. Friends may call on Friday 10:30 p.m. until time of services. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
