The Clark gas station at Eighth and Washington Streets was held up for the second time within a week last night. Police said a lone gunman entered the station and robbed attendant Al Elmore of about $100 in cash.

The Brainerd Junior College Red Raiders football team is bigger, faster and rougher this year than last year. Their coach, Ed Tonish, though not predicting victory in their first game against Hibbing, says they can give anyone a fight on the field.

Mrs. Jean Wayne, of Missoula, Mont., is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Curtis, of Nisswa. Mrs. Wayne, who is sister to Mr. Curtis, is en route to her home after a round-the-world trip lasting six months.

100 years ago (1909)

A woman pleaded guilty to defrauding J. C. Jamieson out of a board bill last July and was fined $20 or 15 days in jail. She will serve the time in default of the means to pay. Her brother escaped when he saw the officers and has not been caught.
