Free Grief Support program offered in Brainerd

St. Joseph's Medical Center's Grief Support Program is offering a free series of seven grief support sessions beginning Sept. 14.

Individuals who are grieving the death of a loved one can join this supportive and caring group facilitated by professionals, St. Joseph's Medical Center reported. The sessions take place at St. Joseph's Medical Center at 523 N. Third St., Brainerd, in the lower level conference rooms, through the cafeteria. Sessions are from 3-5 p.m. and run for seven consecutive Mondays. For more information, call 828-7525.

'Let's talk about it' event planned

OutFront Minnesota's Anti-Violence program director will discuss ways to make Brainerd a safer place for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and allied community members from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Brainerd Public Library, 416 S. Fifth St., Brainerd. The event is open to the public.

The event is co-sponsored by The GLBT Equality Coalition, Mid-Minnesota Women's Center, Lakes Area Diversity Council, Brainerd Friends Meeting (Quakers), First Congregational United Church of Christ, Brainerd, Brainerd PFLAG and OutFront Minnesota.

Wine-tasting event planned

A Women's Wellness United Way wine-tasting event is planned from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday at Prairie Bay restaurant in Baxter. Cost is $15. Proceeds will go to Women's Wellness. The event is sponsored by Cashwise Liquor and Prairie Bay.

Camp Ripley Citizens Advisory meeting set

CAMP RIPLEY - Members of the Morrison County Board are invited to attend a Camp Ripley Citizens Advisory meeting at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Training and Community Center in Camp Ripley.
