Gull Lake association schedules planning session

Property owners on the Gull chain of lakes and area residents who enjoy or benefit from the lakes are invited to join the Gull Chain of Lakes Association in developing a strategic lake management plan for the chain.

The planning session is scheduled for 9 a.m. Sept. 23 at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Lunch follows the session.

Public input will help the association prioritize goals and determine a course of action to protect the lakes.

Lake Margaret already has been designated as impaired. The Lake Margaret Conservation Association will host a planning session in the afternoon to develop a lake restoration plan.

Pie social to celebrate Grandparent's Day

BAXTER - In honor of Grandparent's Day, Diamond Willow Advanced Care and Memory Care Assisted Living will have a free pie social from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Diamond Willow, at 14396 Grand Oaks Drive, Baxter.

Sept. 11 observance planned in Walker

WALKER - The Spencer Ross American Legion Post No. 134 will host a flag ceremony in observance of Sept. 11 on Monday beginning at 7:40 a.m. at the Veterans Podium, Cass County Courthouse front lawn, in Walker.
