HILLMAN -- A pancake breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the new Immanuel Lutheran Church at the intersection of highways 47 and 27 north of Hillman. Pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee, and orange juice will be served. All proceeds will go to the Building Fund.
Loyalty Sunday celebrated
NISSWA -- Christ Community Church in Nisswa will celebrate Loyalty Sunday this coming Sunday when the fall schedule begins. This includes worship services at 8:30 & 11 a.m. Fellowship at 9:30 a.m., and Sunday School (for all ages) at 10 a.m.
Following the 11 a.m. service there will be a picnic and games including egg toss, water balloon toss, tug of war, gunny sack races and more.
Sunday night the "Jeff and Julie Concert" will be presented at 7 p.m. Fall Wednesday evening programs will begin the following Wednesday with the 5:30 p.m. family supper, 6:30 p.m. Awana, youth group and adult bible study and 8:15 p.m. choir practice.
The Arts Committee of First Congregational United Church of Christ presents its second annual Gallery Walk immediately after the 10 a.m. service on Sunday. Members of the church will display their creative interpretations of the church's mission statement, "To know and share God's love within us." Included in the display are paintings, photographs, needle art, poetry, wood art and more. The public is invited to attend the show and reception.
Representative from Minnesota House of Prayer to speak
The Rev. Dale Gilmore, representing the Minnesota House of Prayer, will be ministering at Iron Range Christian Center at 10 a.m. Sunday. The House of Prayer would operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is dedicated to prayer and worship to the Lord Jesus Christ. Gilmore, a native Minnesotan, has served as pastor at several Baptist General Conference churches in Minnesota for 32 years and is the author of, "He is Not Served By Human Hands." The Iron Range Christian Center meets in the Irondale Town Hall, County Road 12 (Deerwood shortcut).
Tackling tough issues
CROSSLAKE -- Crosslake Presbyterian Church will once again be "tackling the tough issues" in society the next three Sundays at 10 a.m. Pastor Ray Larson's sermon topic this Sunday will be "End of Life Issues." Sunday, Sept. 18, the topic will be "Homosexuality," and "Abortion" will be the topic Sunday, Sept. 25. An adult forum precedes the worship service at 9 a.m.
Serengeti Trek continues
Sunday School will kick off at 9:15 a.m. at South Long Lake Presbyterian Church. The program will continue the Vacation Bible School theme: "The Serengeti Trek", and morning worship service as well as Sunday School hour will offer a return to the Serengeti of Africa. Fun songs with "Serengeti Betty", neat treats with "Wateringhole Wanda", and travels back in time with "Bongo Bob" will help relive our favorite Bible stories. Scientist to present evidence
NISSWA -- Timberwood Church will sponsor former skeptic Dr. Don Bierle as he presents the evidence that changed his mind from doubt to confidence about the Christian faith from 5 - 7 p.m. Sept. 18 and 5 - 7 p.m. Sept. 25. at the Nisswa Community Center. A college professor and academic dean for almost 25 years, Bierle is now President of Faith Studies International of Minneapolis. His presentation will reflect the life-changing discoveries he has had in his own spiritual journey. The Nisswa Community Center is located at 25628 Main Street in Nisswa.
Sunday school for adults and kids
St. Paul's Episcopal Church at Seventh and Church Streets will kick off Rally Sunday with a special potluck after services. The adult forum will start at 9 a.m. Sunday morning with a video of Bishop Tuto. Service of the Eucharist will be at 10 a.m. Lunch will be served.
Music, live drama and interactive video will all be a part of B.A.Y. Rally 32 from 6:45-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Tornstrom Auditorium in the Washington Educational Service Center. Nick Hall will be the speaker, and the theme is "Reality Check." B.A.Y. Rallies, which are held three times a year, are open to all area teens from every denomination.
Rally Sunday is this Sunday with worship services held at 8:15 and 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Services will focus on the theme, "Building Blocks of Faith...For the Sake of the World." Sunday school for three year olds through 12th graders will run from 9:20-10:15 a.m. To register, call 829-9552. A Rally Sunday carnival and celebration will take place at 9:20 a.m.
Spaghetti dinner and silent auction
A spaghetti dinner and silent auction will be 5-7 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Pine River. Proceeds will go to Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts with matching funds provided by Hubbard Cass County Chapter 31305 Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Donations of gently used clothing, toys, games and baby items will also be accepted. Drop donations off at the Pine River Information Center.
BUCKMAN -- St. Michael's Church of Buckman will have its bazaar beginning with a Polka Mass at 10 a.m. Sept. 18. Mass will be followed by a chicken and ham dinner with all the trimmings from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Annual worship service
The annual worship service of the Lincoln Community Church, County Road 7, Lincoln, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Pastor Eric Anderson, associate pastor of theLincoln Evangelical Free Church, will be the guest speaker.
