Elsie Nelson
ELMDALE -- Elsie Nelson, 82, Elmdale, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at home.
She was born March 17, 1920, in Elmdale Township to Thomas G. and Flossie (Anderson) Thompson. She married Nels "EC" Wolters on Dec. 17, 1943, in Elmdale. He died in February 1962. She married Robert L. Nelson on Nov. 20, 1965, in Upsala. They farmed until he died in 1988. She was a board member of the Lutheran Cemetery Association, fire warden and the organist of Mount Olive Church in Upsala for 42 years. She retired in April.
Survivors include four sons, Thomas Wolters, Red Wing, David Wolters, Minneapolis, John Wolters, Golden Valley, and Steven Wolters, Rapid City, S.D.; two daughters, Susan Norha, Bloomington, and Luanne Cluka, Upsala; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Her first and second husbands, and a brother, James Thompson, died earlier.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Upsala with Pastor Roy Hasbargen officiating. Burial will be in Elmdale Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call an hour before services today at the church.
