Fires

The Brainerd Fire Department Sunday responded to a small fire at East Brainerd Mall.

The fire was reported at 11:27 p.m.

The fire started in an area being remodeled between Cub Foods and the Ben Franklin store. The cause of the fire was attributed to welding done earlier in the day. The fire did about $2,000 in damage. There were no injuries.

False alarm

The Brainerd Fire Department Saturday responded to North Star Apartment building, 410 E. River Road, for what turned out to be a false alarm.

The alarm was reported at 2:58 a.m.
