CROSBY -- The Cuyuna Range Women's Club will meet at 2 p.m. Monday at the Jessie F. Hallett Memorial Library in Crosby.
The program, "What's It Like to Bring Joy with Music," will include entertainment by Stanley Moore on electric guitar and Bill Hanson on guitar and strings.
President Isabelle Erickson will lead the business meeting. Hostesses will be Elaine Butorac, Juneal Pecarich and Virginia Cook.
All women of the area are invited to attend. Dues are $3 a year.
Mille Lacs Lake Lions elect officers
GARRISON -- Mille Lacs Lake Lions Club officers and board members started their new terms.
Elected officers are: president, Joan Sjoquist; first vice president, Rosie Trahan; second vice president, Elaine Drahosh; third vice president, Sandy Colas; secretary, Bev Anderson; treasurer, Sue Zupfer; Lion tamer, Tim Drahosh; and tail twister, Mary Connoy.
Directors are Bev Putnam, Joann Priller, Georjann Deutsch and Sue Stebbins. Betty O'Neil is membership chair. Past president is Karen Raddatz.
The club will hold its annual spaghetti dinner 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Garrison VFW. Proceeds will go toward three nontraditional scholarships. Tickets are available from any Mille Lacs Lake Lion or at the door. Call (320) 692-4144 for tickets.
The club will host its bazaar 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 23 at Garrison City Hall, featuring craft items, a bargain table and bake sale.
The Mille Lacs Lake Lions Club meets the second Thursday of the month with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and meeting at 7:30 p.m. at Garrison City Hall.
Women's wellness program scheduled Oct. 7 in Wadena
WADENA -- "Among Friends" is the theme for Women's Nite Out from 4 to 9 p.m. Oct. 7 at Minnesota State Community & Technical College in Wadena.
This free wellness program is for women of all ages and is sponsored by the Tri-County Hospital Foundation.
Guest speaker and North Dakota author Roxanne Henke will talk about friendships and their importance for women's health and well-being. Henke has written several books about the power of friendships during medical and family crises; clinical depression; and the search for contentment in the midst of daily life in a small town.
Also on the program is a community health panel featuring Wadena Medical Center physicians Bobbi Adams, Shaneen Schmidt and Lisa Murdoch. They will answer questions on women's health.
There will be free health screenings, hors d' oeuvres and dessert 4 to 6 p.m. The singing group Chromatic Fore from Menahga will provide entertainment.
