Bemidji retains Hubert title

NISSWA -- With its top showing from the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams, the Brainerd Warriors tennis team finished fifth at the Lake Hubert Invitational Saturday.

Maya Kuehn and Becca Clemens finished 2-2 at No. 1 doubles, beating Osseo and Blaine while falling to Bemidji and Blue Earth.

The No. 2 doubles team of Natalie Potvin-Ashley Ryan also finished 2-2.

Bemidji, the defending champion, retained its title by winning all eight positions.

Team scores -- Bemidji 28, Blaine 15, Blue Earth 11, Osseo 10, Brainerd 6

No. 2 -- Erica Ruen 0-4

No. 3 -- Megan Owens 1-3

No. 1 -- Maya Kuehn-Becca Clemens 2-2

No. 2 -- Natalie Potvin-Ashley Ryan 2-2

No. 3 -- Kali Gardner-Carolyn Despot 0-4

No. 4 -- Ariel Aakhus-Abby Ahlberg 0-2
