Magnan files for board

Richard Magnan, Fort Ripley, filed Friday for a four-year term on the Brainerd School Board.

This is Magnan's sixth run for school board, with unsuccessful bids in 1987, 1991, 1993, 1994 and 1995. He is a one-time teacher and principal and has worked in the building trades.

Attempts to reach Magnan for comments were unsuccessful Friday afternoon.

Those interested in filing for the three open school board seats may do so until Tuesday. There is a $2 filing fee. The general election will be Nov. 6.
