Man arrested in assault on 4-year-old boy

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- A 22-year-old man who is HIV-positive was charged Thursday with sexually assaulting a 4-year-old boy he encountered in an apartment building where the boy lives.

Gabriel L. Pugsley, of Minneapolis, was charged with kidnapping, two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of first-degree assault and one count of attempted first-degree assault.

His first court appearance was set for Friday. A spokesman for the Hennepin County attorney's office said prosecutors would seek $200,000 bail.

According to a criminal complaint, the boy's mother was outside the building talking to a friend and her son had been in the hallway.
