In Brainerd, as elsewhere, time marches on. Do you remember when there were no business places on the highway west of Brainerd? Can you recall the night when the high school burned down? There was a large outdoor rink with space for hockey and even a warming house in northern Brainerd.

A building program is needed at Washington High School before next fall if the present academic program is to be carried out. Superintendent Elliot Whoolery said that there is not enough space for classes offered this year and the problem will increase next year.

Brainerd Lions and Lionesses will gather Sunday afternoon at the Pine Beach Hotel for a half-day of informal entertainment, the first of its kind to be sponsored by the local organization.

The Brainerd second team has challenged the first team to play a game of ball here on Sunday night. The challenge is on the square and the youngsters here say they mean business.
