BEMIDJI -- Get used to the names Justin Grunewald and Kim Beaman.
Each won for the second week in a row, this time pacing the field at the Maple Ridge Cross Country meet Friday.
Grunewald led the Brainerd Warriors boys' team to first place with a score of 36 points. Chris Woodard finished fifth, Brandon Town was ninth and Brandon Asker finished ninth.
C-I placed third with 58 points. The Rangers were paced by Joe Radinovich, who finished second, and Ricky Aulie, who finished third.
The Warriors girls' team also won and was led by Jenna Roberts, who was second, and Audree Goodew, who was third and Ali Parsons, who was seventh.
Beaman helped the Ranger girls to second place.
"Outstanding performances by the girls," said Warriors coach Dave Herath. "To have six athletes in the top 10 is fabulous.
"Fifteen of our guys improved their times from our home meet last week. It's great to see that much improvement early in the season."
