CROSBY -- Leo W. Chambers, 85, Crosby, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center of Crosby.
He was born Feb. 16, 1915, in Walker to William and Florence (Jackson) Chambers. He married Caroline M. Padjen on Sept. 18, 1948, in Crosby. He was an M.A. Hanna mining employee with 25 years of service. He was a local fishing bait supplier for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lee Chambers, Ironton, and Thomas Chambers, Duluth; four daughters, Joyce Elliott, West Sacramento, Calif., Cathy Wilber, Rocky Mount, N.C., Carol Novicki, St. Louis Park, and Mary Robinson, Milaca; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and four sisters died earlier.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Koop Funeral Home of Crosby with Father Howard Eisel officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery of Crosby.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday and an hour before services Saturday at Koop Funeral Home.
