It was like going to a football game and a track meet broke out. The Warriors, however, had the most sprinters. The Warriors put up 20 first quarter points and shut out Minneapolis North in the second half of a 41-12 win Friday night.

Hundreds of Minnesota Legionaires and their families are expected to attend the Legionville "Camp-O-Ree" held at the school patrol training center on North Long Lake Sept. 9, 10, 11. The "camp-o-ree" is sponsored by the Brainerd American Legion Post.

Brainerd's police department will play host to its 15th annual invitational pistol shoot Sunday. The contest is open to any full-time law enforcement officer. A total of 52 trophies will be given to the winners.

Eighteen tomatoes on a single vine. That is the record established by John Wrobel of 621 Eighth Avenue, northeast Brainerd. Gardening on an 80 by 140 foot plot of ground. Wrobel has grown "everything you can think of."

Mrs. A.: "That woman next door bought a hat exactly like mine."
Husband: "And now I suppose you won't speak..."
Mrs. A.: "Not after she finds I've given mine to her cook."

Two of the big 1900 engines have been in the shops here for repairs. They are big eight driver machines and look as if they could pull any string of cars that had two ends.
