Many people think the country was correct to invade Iraq to free the people. They should stand up to protest the loss of our own freedoms.
The DNR has set Sept. 18 at the WHA school cafeteria for a public meeting for the purpose of establishing slot limits for Walleye and Northerns on Leech Lake.
There will be no public hearing and no one will be allowed to stand up and state their opposition. There is only one reason to prohibit the public from speaking out. There are things the DNR does not want the public to know and they want to influence their decision in order to obtain favorable public reaction, or to hide unfavorable results.
This is not a satisfactory method of operation in a free society. In the past this would never have been allowed to happen and we had strong legislative leaders to protect our rights.
I call on Sen. Carrie Rudd and Rep. Larry Howes to bring the legislative committees on fishing up to our area to hold public hearings on this issue so everyone can speak out in a public format.
I also call on them to submit an amendment to Minnesota Statue 2002, Chapter 97C to change the word "meeting" to "hearing".
Fishing is not a Republican or Democratic issue. It is an issue of Human Rights. It is time to find out if we have strong legislators who will follow the tradition of fighting for our area or if we have wet noodles who do what their leaders in St. Paul tell them.
Anyone who loves freedom should contact DNR Fisheries, 07316 State Hwy 371 NW, Walker, MN 56484 or by e-mailing email@example.com. Request that a public hearing be held before any change in regulations are made.
Keep it clean
Please help keep our world clean and clean up the litter. I wish everyone would get along.
