I would like to let the people in District 12B know what a qualified candidate for state representative they have running for this job -- Debra Copa Nagel. I am another elected official who has known Debbie for about eight years.

It is time to protect our hunting rights. The special election for state representative District 12B is up for grabs, since the timetables are so short before the primary we, as voters, do not have much time to get to know the candidates.
I would like to share the views of one of our candidates on our hunting rights. This is a quote from Helen McLennan's column "The Way I See It" dated Nov. 19, 2000. "'The Wearing of Orange' is almost over and the deer slain were many. I know there are women who like to hunt also, but I still can't imagine sitting still in a tree stand and waiting to slaughter some unsuspecting creature."
I do not understand how someone with an opinion like this can call herself pro-gun.
The primary is Sept. 11, 2001; we all need to get out and vote for a candidate that will support our "Hunting Heritage."

I would like to encourage all the citizens of Brainerd to attend Tuesday's Sept. 11 special meeting at the city council meeting room. It starts at 5 pm. I believe that this meeting is of great concern to all the
people of Brainerd. The way I understand it, the mayor as well as several of the council members want to pass a motion to stop public officials from getting important information from city staff. This is of course, in my opinion, ridiculous. I believe the city council is trying to stifle one of its best aldermen, Bob Olson, from being able to do his job effectively.
Please come and join your voice with mine against censorship.
What about love?
A truly intelligent insightful look at life without baggage of marriage. This young lady has legitimate resolve for the many problems we can associate with a bad marriage. We all know friend and family that we think should divorce. I am fascinated that all her logic made no reference to either love or commitment, silly words that my generation found essential to life and marriage.
If earlier generations shared her shallow "me" attitude of self, we in the U.S.A. would undoubtedly be speaking German as a native language. Right is never out of date.
