Dial-A-Ride will be expanding bus services to include weekends beginning Saturday, part of a six-month test program.
Weekend hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays, with pickups by appointment only. Ride appointments need to be made before noon on Thursdays for weekend service.

The weekend Dial-A-Ride service will run from September to November.
Currently, Dial-A-Ride runs weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Brainerd City Council in June approved extending the program to the weekends for a six-month trial period at a cost of $5,357.
Jeff Hulsether, Brainerd city engineer, said Dial-A-Ride, during week days, provides about 90,000 trips per year, an average of about 1,200-1,400 per week.
A concern about the test program will be what effect it has on the taxi service in Brainerd.
