Erma M. Killeen

AITKIN -- Erma M. Killeen, 77, Aitkin, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at the Twin Rivers Care Center in Anoka.

She was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Ipswich, S.D., to Chester and Ella (Petersen) Davies. The family moved to Aitkin where they farmed. She graduated from Aitkin High School in 1942. She married James Killeen on May 18, 1946, in Minneapolis. They moved to Aitkin where she lived until her death. She worked for several stores in Aitkin, including the National Tea Store and The Royal Clothing House. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, The American Legion Auxiliary and several bridge groups.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Killeen, Coon Rapids; two sons, Michael Killeen and Timothy Killeen, both of Aitkin; two sisters, Leota Howard and Marge Howard, both of Aitkin; five brothers, Glenn Davies and Everett Davies, both of Aitkin, Maynard Davies, Beverly Hills, Fla., Calvin Davies, Coleraine, and John Davies, Deerwood; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Her parents; her husband, James; a sister, Bernice; and three brothers, Lawrence, Donald and Clarence, died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin with the Rev. Judy Hoover officiating. Burial will be in the columbarium at St. John's Episcopal Church in Aitkin.

Friends may call at the church one hour before services Saturday. Memorials are preferred.

Arrangements are with the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
