Loretta B. LaFond

BLOOMINGTON -- Loretta B. LaFond, 95, Bloomington, formerly of Little Falls, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.

She was born March 22, 1907, in Pierz to Joseph and Catherine Meyer. She attended country school. She married Louis C. LaFond on Sept. 2, 1929. In 1940, they opened Loretta's women's clothing store and operated it for 38 years.

Survivors include two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Bayer, Sun City, Ariz.

Her husband, a daughter, Shirley LaFond, and two brothers, Frank and Charles Meyer, died earlier.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Nicholas Landsberger officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery in Little Falls.

Friends may call an hour before services Friday at the church.
