PIERZ -- Emogene P. Langer, 74, Pierz, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
She was born June 9, 1927, in Little Falls, to Joseph and Bertha (Leidenfrost) Kippley. She graduated from Little Falls High School in 1946. She attended nurses training at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She married Reinhard G. Langer on June 1, 1948, in Pierz. Together, they farmed east of Pierz, in Hillman Township. They retired to Pierz in 1987. She was an active member of the Christian Mothers at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Hillman and later at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz. She was also active in St. Joseph's Mission Group.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Marella Larson, Sauk Rapids, and Theresa Gohl, East Bethel; two sons, Joe Langer, Faribault, and Tony Langer, Pierz; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Romell Welle, Lastrup; and a brother, Lloyd Kippley, Pierz.
Her parents, a brother, Jerome, and five infant children, died earlier.
Services were today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz with Father Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial was in the Parish Cemetery.
Arrangements were with Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.
