Cuyuna Women's Club celebrates 85th anniversary

CROSBY -- The Cuyuna Range Women's Club will observe its 85th anniversary at its first meeting of the fall season at 2 p.m. Monday in the meeting room at the Jessie F. Hallett Memorial Library in Crosby.

Four Crosby-Ironton High School juniors who traveled to New Mexico with 37 other members of the Central Minnesota Council of Boy Scouts will tell about their Philmont Expedition 2001. Luke Brady, Jon Christopherson, Kyle Dullinger and Noah Sharpe-Stirewalt, all members of area Boy Scouts Troop 100, will show photos and maps of their adventures in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of New Mexico.

Jake Zilverberg of Aitkin and his group will play music in keeping with the 85th anniversary theme.

Following the program, refreshments will be served by Bev Norlander, Elaine Butorac, Helen Kosmik and Florence McIntosh.

All area women are welcome and invited to join this service organization. Annual dues are $3.

Officers for the 2001-2002 year are Henrietta Pribyl, president; Sally Mann, first vice president; Isabelle Erickson, second vice president; Pat Muggli, secretary; and Carolyn Scheler, treasurer. Pribyl will lead the meeting, which will include plans for the annual dinner set for Oct. 1.
