False alarm

The Brainerd Fire Department investigated to what turned out to be a false alarm at Lakes Country Apartment building at 804 Walnut Street.

The alarm was reported at 4:04 p.m. Tuesday.

The cause of the alarm was possibly humidity.

Trees down power lines

The Brainerd Fire Department stood on standby several times Saturday as high winds knocked trees onto power lines.

The first downed power line happened at 3:05 p.m. at North Sixth and Washington streets. The second at 3:26 p.m. on Cedar Street.

Brainerd Public Utilities fixed both problems.

False alarm at BRHSC

The Brainerd Fire Department investigated what turned out to be a false alarm at the Brainerd Regional Human Services Center Sunday.

The alarm, reported 10 10:01 p.m. in Building 19, turned out to be burned popcorn.

Bedroom fire under investigation

The Brainerd Fire Department responded to a fire in a bedroom at a residence at 502 Southwest Fourth Street Sunday.

The fire was reported at 5:43 p.m.

The fire, put out by the owner, did about $5,000 in damage to the room. The cause of the is under investigation.
