Tigers stumble in season opener

CASS LAKE - Levi Allen and Nathan Holm recorded a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs, but mistakes cost the Pine River-Backus a season-opening victory as they fell to Cass Lake-Bena 18-14 Thursday in non-conference action.

Allen rushed for 84 yards on 23 carries as the Tigers outgained CL-B 290 to 104.
