Warriors thump Alex 6-1

Despite defeating the Alexandria Cardinals 6-1, the Brainerd Warriors felt the final result was not indicative of Thursday's grueling match.

Brainerd's Mackayla Headlee extended Alexandria's Ashley White into three sets before falling while Brainerd came out on top in each of the doubles matches that went three sets, and just eight of the 17 sets were decided by more than two points.

"The score isn't indicative of how good of a team that Alexandria is," Warriors coach Ellen Fussy said. "We went three sets on a couple of the matches, and they are a lot better than what the final result shows."

Taylor Headlee, Mikinzee Salo and Brianna Rademacher won singles matches for the Warriors.
