A job well done
After a summer of constantly reading The Dispatch and the Open Forum and Vox Pox uncomplimentary remarks about people and businesses (mostly Wal-Mart), I would like to state some good comments.
As all residents of Baxter, Brainerd and surrounding communities are aware of, we have had some major highway work on 210 and 371 that we have had to contend with. It has all taken place when summer traffic is greater and several big holiday weekends have occurred.
My husband and I feel that construction crews, personnel and traffic officials have done an outstanding job of helping people get back and forth to work and shopping. My husband and I live on South Eighth Street in Brainerd and we both work in Baxter. Usually we are in the middle of the construction area three or four times daily and we were always able to get back and forth in good time.
We both would like to thank everyone involved in the highway work for a super job well done.

It's city budget time
The Brainerd City Council will be discussing the 2004 budget Monday night, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m.
This meeting will be televised on channel 8.
