Abraham 'Abe' Ewert

FERGUS FALLS -- Abraham "Abe" Ewert, 88, Fergus Falls, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, at Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls.

He was born March 5, 1914, in Moscow Township, Cavalier County, N.D., to David D. and Regina (Guenther) Ewert. He attended rural school in Cavalier County. He was a member of United Methodist Church of Peace in Fergus Falls. He married Bernice Mittelstadt on Sept. 2, 1941. They farmed in Western Township until 1962 when they moved to Fergus Falls. He owned West Lincoln Market for a short time. He worked as a carpenter and farm equipment salesman until he became employed at National Bushing for 18 years. In his earlier years, he sang in men's chorus groups and barbershop quartets.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dennis, Fergus Falls, and Bruce, Brainerd; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Church of Peace United Methodist Church in Fergus Falls with the Rev. Mark Bateson officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Fergus Falls.

Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday with a 7 p.m. public prayer service at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls and an hour before services Thursday at the church.
