Two committees from the Minnesota House have scheduled events at Central Lakes College.
Members of the Higher Education and Workforce Development Finance and Policy Division are scheduled to visit both the Staples and Brainerd campuses on Sept. 16.
Rep. Tom Rukavina, DFL-Virginia, chairs the committee.
The committee plans to meet with CLC faculty, staff and students on both campuses.
The committee will be on the Staples campus from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., touring for the first 20 minutes and then meeting in the Commons with faculty, staff, and students.
The Brainerd campus visit is set for 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a 20-minute tour to be followed by the meeting time with faculty, staff, and students in The Cube.
On Oct. 8 members of the Capital Investment Finance Division are scheduled to visit the Brainerd campus for presentations from several organizations, including CLC regarding Chalberg Theatre renovation.
Area topics expected to be discussed include the Cuyuna Range Recreation Area, the Crosby water treatment plant, a veterans' home, and the human services center.
Tentative plans are for a noon lunch in the Business and Industry Center followed by presentations from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Chalberg Theatre. Rep. Alice Hausman, DFL-St. Paul, chairs the committee.
