Arline 'Susie' Brunes

CROSSLAKE -- Arline "Susie" Brunes, 76, Crosslake, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center.

She was born Sept. 29, 1925, in Crosby to August "Gerald" and Lilly (Larson) Fernlund. She graduated from Pequot Lakes High School. She married Philip Brunes on April 14, 1945, in Watsonville, Calif. She was a charter member of Crosslake Lutheran Church. She was active in Sunday school and the ladies aid.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Darlene Berg, Brooklyn Park, and Phyllis Denne, Ironton; a son, Russell Brunes, Pine City; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine Borchman, Omaha, Neb.; and a brother, Kenneth Fernlund, St. Paul.

A brother, Donald, and a sister, June, died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake.

Friends may call an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
