Quient joins Garrison Realty

GARRISON -- Mary Quient of Brainerd joined the staff at Garrison Realty, LLC, as a real estate agent.

Faacks attends seminar

Colleen Faacks of the Mid-Minnesota Builders Association recently attended a five-day educational seminar given by the National Association of Home Builders' Executive Officers Council in Montana.

Those who attended participated in more than 70 educational programs exploring new methods, techniques and technologies to be more productive, increase revenue and enhance membership services at their association.

The Mid-Minnesota Builders Association represents more than 270 home builders and their associates in the housing industry throughout the Brainerd lakes area.

Home Stretch classes slated in Brainerd

Home Stretch, a first-time homebuyer education workshop, will be offered 6-9 p.m. Oct. 11, 18 and 25 at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.

The workshops educate first-time homebuyers about the process of buying a home.

The Central Minnesota Housing Partnership, a nonprofit organization providing affordable housing services to central Minnesota, coordinates the Home Stretch workshops.

Topics covered include mortgage approval process, budget and credit issues, real estate, closing procedures, basic home maintenance and affordable mortgage products that may be available.
