Firearms safety class

55 Alive Driving class
The Pine River American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor a four-hour refresher class for drivers over age 55. The class will be held at the Pine River American Legion Club from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sept. 11. Doors will open at 8 a.m. Instructor will be Leo Furnstahl. Cost: $10 per person. Fibromyalgia self-help class
A fibromyalgia self-help class will begin Sept. 12 from 7-9 p.m. every Tuesday for seven weeks at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Baxter. The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill Family-to-Family Education course is a series of 12 weekly classes structured to help family members understand mental illness, support their ill family member and maintain their own well being. The course is being offered locally in Brainerd starting Tuesday evening. The course is taught by a team of trained volunteer family members who know what it's like to have a loved one with a serious mental illness in the family. There is no cost to participate in the NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program. More than 900 family members in Minnesota have completed this nationwide course.
